WNO HIGHLIGHTS

 

Preparatory Commission for the WNO

Since the WNO-Treaty is not yet in force, the Organization is called the Preparatory Commission for the World Nature Organization (WNO). The Preparatory Commission was commissioned in 2011 and it released the first darft of the WNO Treaty in July 2012. The final Treaty was opened for signature in November 2013. The WNO main tasks of the Preparatory Commission are the promotion of the Treaty and the build-up of the Organization so that it is operational when the Treaty enters into force.
